Poppies Will Make Them Sleep  
David and I recently took some time to check out the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve over near Lancaster. It is really a lovely day trip out of town. The flowers only bloom for about a month each year and it is highly dependent on the rainfall during the winter. Last year, there were only 58 poppies total. This year there we did get some rain, so the fields were pretty well blanketed with flowers. We went a couple weeks past the peak time but it was still beautiful, as you can see below:
