It Is Finished
I am happy to report that the music portion of our album Somniloquy is now complete. Insert exhalation here. That means the writing, recording, and mixing is finished. We have just happily (and nervously) sent our baby off to Matt Brown at Emerson 77 for mastering.

There's a lot more work to do. A photo shoot, hopefully a video shoot, then designing the album layout, then sending it all off for printing, then a whole website re-design, promotional work, and finally (and most importantly) learning how to make the songs playable live. But the act of creation is completed.

That is never to say that it feels "done." The music never feels done, not ever. But there is an exhaustion point that we reach where we have to accept them in the state they're in and let them go out into the world. We are tired and happy at the end of this cycle (although it was nowhere near as draining as making The Republic of Heaven) and more than anything are looking forward to starting writing again right away.

I look forward to sharing with you soon.

Congrats! I think I felt your sighs of relief all the way out here in Houston! :)
