Let's Go To The Movies
So, this weekend I filmed the short film Butter in a bungalow in Hollywood. It was so much fun. These little icons lived in a tree outside, and have nothing to do with the movie. I didn't get many pictures, but the production photographer got hundreds. Hopefully he'll be sharing them some time soon. Here I am in costume with my co-star, Brandon. The crew was fantastic. These are all pro guys from television and film. I was so impressed with all of them. Our DP was fantastic, and he brought his chinchilla, which I totally fell in love with. They are so amazingly soft! Here also pictured is the back of Rob Poe's head, who was my director on Space Hospital. It's a small world. Me with my director, Chad, who is so very nice and generous and is from New Zealand and worked at Weta Workshop for some obscure films you might have heard of like Lord of the Rings and King Kong. My makeup girl Amy was a Kiwi as well, and was also just fantastic.
I had a great time. I learned a lot and continue to keep learning so much about acting for film. It's so very very different from everything I'm used to as a theatre actor, and I appreciate the challenge. I am again impressed by how much work goes into just the smallest of takes. It's so much that I'm amazed any film ever gets done. I hope Chad is happy with what we did. It is all still quite a magical mystery to me.
Look at you GO! I am so proud of you and excited about all of the work you have been doing and all of the creativity pouring out of you. Can't wait to hear about this experience in more detail...
