Been trying to go to more auditions, keep my chops up. It's not my strong suit, as you might be able to tell by my lack of getting cast in anything. Nerves are a big issue. They're really going to be tested later this week when I have a Real Audition for a Real Thing. We'll see how that goes.
After an audition all the way over at UCLA on Sunday, David and I decided to jaunt over to the Getty Museum. We'd been there a couple of times, but never just to take a picnic and enjoy the gardens. They are a wonderful mental reboot. We ate Trader Joe's cucumber sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies and rosemary chicken salad. Yum. It's the first time I've really enjoyed staring at succulents, and they have some wacky ones there. We also got a chance to wander through their permanent collection, which we've never done as we're always there for some special exhibit.

Short day trip-like things, I've come to realize, are extremely important. It helps with inspiration, creativity, decompressing, and re-energizing. That's why next week, David and I decided we're going to take a day trip to Yosemite before going Fresno for the engagement party of my cousin John and Komal. We just need it.
