Things are nut-tay right now, but all in a good way.
Thanksgiving, I do believe, went rather well. We had mountains of amazingly delicious food, and good, good company. If anyone has pictures, please send them my way. I have a few, which I plan to post when I have a moment, even one moment, to do such things. We thought we would have tons of leftovers, but actually the take home plates really took care of the turkey and yummy side items. We were left with four tantalizing pies, which we are still trying to cram down.
Luckily, we've had hungry little guests in the house who were happy to consume pumpkin pie galore. My brother and his family came to town on Friday, and we've been hitting the town ever since. On Saturday, we did the Grove (shudder) and Shannon got to see my show. On Sunday, Daniel came to the show, and afterwards we went to Griffith Observatory. Nice. Yesterday was Disneyland.
I have pictures. I will show you. My niece and nephews are flippin adorable. I have had so much fun with them the last few days. And my bro and sis-in-law loved the show and were proud of me, and that really is what it's all about. My brother, on the sly, bought me a Christmas tree ornament yesterday and gave it to me as we were leaving. I love it fiercely.
I also had surgery, yesterday morning, for the "severely atypical nevus" (translation: evil mole). I have icky stitches. My dermatologist is convinced I'm Irish, and I now agree, seeing as I just found out that my brother heard from our Uncle Jack that their last name used to have a Mc in front of it. I need to investigate this further, but it really explains so very very much. I now realize I have the dreaded Italian/Irish blood combination, which perhaps explains why I should stay far, far away from booze and screaming.
And speaking of screaming, I have an audition tomorrow for a reading of a musical that I really, really, really, really feel good about (translation: IWANTITIWANTITIWANTIT). I need the juju. They need someone who is able to sing operatically but is comfortable in electronic music. Hello!! That's me. Plus it's about warring angels and Paradise Lost, what more could I want? Make this happen. I have to learn an operatic aria overnight. I can do it, right? RIGHT?
The show closes on Sunday. I don't want to think about that right now. I'll think about it tomorrow.
