Sometimes you're going along on a path and you don't even remember anymore WHY you were on that path, what brought you there to begin with. I had a pretty big DUH moment the other day when I realized that the whole bloody reason I was a temp was that if I got acting work I could NOT WORK during those times so as to make room for what I love best.

OH YEAH!! I've been chugging along, getting more and more worn out, when Life sort of went, "Adriana, don't be dumb." My temp job magically ended on Friday (it was supposed to go until January). I realized that I could take these next two weeks as we go into tech here to actually FOCUS on my CRAFT, instead of pushing pushing pushing and getting no sleep and generally freaking out.

So I'm not working. Fie on the income. This is what it was for to begin with.

Thank you all of you who had such insightful and helpful sleep suggestions. It's scary how many people fight with sleep, all the time. I'm surprised anyone is able to get anything done at all. My solution is to quit my job. Heh heh heh.

We watched an interesting documentary last night on Storyville, the area of New Orleans at the turn of the century that was filled with legal prostitution and which spawned jazz. Tons and tons of archival pictures of Victorian women in varying states of undress performing all kinds of lewd acts. Unbelievable wealth generated. Fascinating. Also saw another Tennessee Williams movie, Suddenly Last Summer. Weird, weird, weird. I'd love to hear some analysis from Shawn on that one. Everything in film was so coded, so veiled, so ambiguous back then when it came to matters of homosexuality, incest, pedophilia, and cannibalism. I mean, let's be open about cannibalism, people! Anyway, you have to love a play that literally encorporates a Deus Ex Machina in the form of a golden elevator.

What else? I know there's lots more, but I'm distracted by this evil, evil thing in my home that I must roll up and get rid of post haste.

a good six years ago i had my runes read by a wiccan priest. he said that i'm heading down the right road, but that i'm heading the wrong direction. since then i've tried to stop on my road every once in a while and double check my directions. sounds like you have received a divine traffic sign. good on you for paying attention and heeding it.
