Friends, I am very honored to be on the board of the scholarship foundation set in place in the name of recently departed Lizzie Lulu. This Sunday night is going to be a huge fundraiser/concert for the foundation, and I would really love it if anyone and everyone could attend. I'll let Allen do the talking:

This Sunday night, folks! The Elizabeth Lulu Scholarship Foundation kicks off in high gear as The Shakers, The Piper Downs and Throttle Back Sparky play a benefit concert at 8PM at The Gig Hollywood (7302 Melrose Ave in Hollywood).

As you know Lizzie lost her lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis and Beth and I have started a scholarship fund in Elizabeth's name. The money raised will be donated to a different teenage recipient every year, to help that person achieve their dreams of college. This was always Elizabeth's dream, and her memory will live on in other kids for years to come.

The cover is only $20, and every penny will go directly to the Elizabeth Lulu Foundation (yep, the bands play for free, and even the venue isn't taking any of the door). but feel free to bring your checkbook and donate more at the door. The first 100 people will get receive copies of "Great Big Mardi Gras Head," "Throttle Back, Sparky " and a new single, "The World She Won't Know". And that's just for coming to the show! Any donations of $100 or more will also receive a limited edition Elizabeth Lulu Scholarship Foundation t-shirt.

Doors open at 8. The first band is The Shakers, made up of good friends of Liz's and her father's, The Shakers will make you want to dance, as they have been doing for almost 20 years. Following them, one of Liz's all time favorite bands, The Piper Downs. Liz used to love playing their songs on her ipod for her friends and proudly telling them "they are friends of mine." And, lastly, the return of Throttle Back Sparky! Liz wanted to start a rock band of her own and call them "The Sparkettes!". She was always down front, dancing her little heart out (quite an achievement, all things considered).

So, please come out, support the foundation, pass this email on to anyone you know and visit us at to make donations online.
