I just finished reading the book Wicked, which was shockingly fantastic. I then allowed myself to listen to the musical Wicked, which was shockingly not fantastic. However, the theatre geek in me is winning out because there are just some amazing hooky songs in that show (oh god, Defying Gravity!). But...what of all the amazing social commentary and politics and spirituality and ruminations on evil that pervade the book? What is this crap about an Ozdust Ballroom? Somebody help me out, here. I'm having cognitive dissonance.
Still, something weird is happening to me and David. We're getting all musical crazy again. It's been a slow change over the last five months or so, which was completely exacerbated by going to New York and seeing shows. It's gotten to where it's all we talk about or listen to. What's happening to us? I come home and David is BLASTING Assassins or Wicked or Rent or somesuch thing. I think things go in cycles in one's life, and maybe we're having some weird kind of Saturn return or something.
So one last shameless plug, and that is this. For you who are technologically savvy, you can now buy RINGTONES of our music. Pretty WICKED, ain't it? Get it? Wicked? *nudge* GET IT? Please tell me you get it. *sigh*
I get it. Boy do I! tifanie | 12.07.05 - 6:03 pm | #
