I got a love note at lunch! I was working on music and lyrics, listening to our demo tracks in my pod and writing in my journal (and probably looking pale and tragic), when a young girl whooshed by and slammed a little note from a tiny notepad on my table. She sped away before I even had a chance to see much but the back of her head. It said,
"I like your necklace.
-bunnigirl
ps- your journal ain't so bad either."
My necklace is a Maori koru symbol. I felt so happy and excited when I got the note, because not an hour earlier I had just finished reading a book called The Lovely Bones which is about the dead coming to visit you, and I'd been writing about my Mom in this song. So it felt like a little moment of connection, through this girl. I know it doesn't make sense but it does in my head.
I don't believe I've gotten a note like that since I was a schoolgirl. Tee hee.

That's wonderful. Love notes from girls rule! Once, an older, sexy blonde woman in a restaurant slipped me a note that said, "Your skin is like porcelain- more beatiful than a painting by Vermeer." Then she proceeded to smile at me from across the room. I was so flustered I didn't know what to do! But I carried that note in my wallet for 4 years, until it disintegrated completely. tifanie | 01.14.05 - 6:27 pm | #

My only objection is.... she signed the note "bunnigirl." Surely she hopped, rather than sped away... Mike M. | Homepage | 01.14.05 - 11:24 pm | #
Bunnigirl is only a few letters away from Bunnicula, so beware. Don | Homepage | 01.15.05 - 7:56 am | #
