Well, you know, there's a lot. And I don't know how to say it. I think we're all saying it. We're all feeling it. I don't know about you but I've definitely had to go through a grieving process this week on top of the regular grieving (how annoying). Like Mimi's blog said, I think I didn't have an Emotional Plan B for this election. I think something inside said "surely now that people know the truth they couldn't possibly keep this guy in office!" But the truth got to be much more slippery than that.
I'm still sick in my ears. I need a definitive healing. Anyone have special powers? I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a healing today.
I think the wisest (and most common) thing I've heard about this election has been, in summary...
This election seems largely to have been decided on issues like gay marriage and the "war on terror", in other words, the fear tactics worked. Now, New York has the largest gay population in the USA, and was the target of and is still at least the #2 target for terrorism. Kerry won NY state at an 85% ratio. Bush got 13%. Apparently the "heartland" (where I am from, so no bashing) of America thinks that those of us who live in New York are too close to these issues to have perspective. Thank you, America, for saving us from ourselves. Don | Homepage | 11.08.04 - 6:44 pm | #
